Whether a new home or renovating an older property, reducing impact noise of tiles. The objective is to improve the acoustic performance and improve heat by installing an insulating undercoat beneath your tiles.

Insulating underlay: constraints origin

Originally, sound insulation acts to neutralize the impact and other impact noise transmitted including intermediate floors and other vertical walls of a home. The implementation of a sub-optimal insulation layer is determined by a method called "acoustic casing". Often overlooked it is nether the less good practice to carry this out during the installation of flooring, the application of a sub-layer provides both thermal insulation, soundproofing and sound soil step. Indeed, the installation of a traditional acoustic insulation under screed can quickly be binding. New technologies now allow us to equip all types of housing with an acoustic insulation with an under-tile roll system.

Insulating underlay for a coating

It is possible to set up a sub-layer, regardless of the selected coating: solid parquet or hardwood to laminate flooring, vinyl through to carpet or tile. In the case of you having a heated floor there are still some insulating undercoats perforated and compatible with this that can actually help improve there performance. Note that the thermal resistance of floor coverings (insulating underlay flooring ) must not exceed the limit of 0.15 mē K / W.

Select a sub-function of the coating layer

Some are made of polyester fibres based on polyethylene, which ensures a better sound insulation and form an excellent wall against moisture. Some sub-layers are also made from rubber granules using recycled materials.

If you opt for a floor with glued, choose a sub-layer of cork or a universal undercoat base cork and rubber. In the case of a floating laminate flooring installation, always make sure to have a flat surface without irregularities. Select preferably a foam high density polyethylene, which allows quick and easy installation. For vinyl flooring, a special sub-layer which can be raised free or bonded is used. The advantage of this last sub-layer is to isolate both noise and cold. Finally, insulation sub-floor, stuck to a cork base sub-layer or sub-layer cork and rubber are used.
